The Albuquerque Genealogical Society is a non-profit organization, founded in 1972, with three main goals: to promote genealogy, to provide educational aid to researchers, and to support the genealogical collection and services of the Genealogy Center in the Albuquerque Main Library. The Genealogy Center in the Albuquerque Main Library at 501 Copper, NW is the meeting place for most of the AGS sponsored computer user groups and several research groups. We in Cerrillos realized we were losing our town history. With a few facts and many stories several residents formed a Historical Society. Our goal was to plaque the buildings with their histories. We went to the State Archives and area libraries looking for history on the owners of each building.
